'Life Being Little' Seminars were created to enlighten opinions and enable conversations which better educate the wider community on Dwarfism, and disability as a whole; creating a safe space to ask and answer the questions most people are often afraid to say. Life Being Little Seminars started within my Youth Organisation- Urban Circle Newport on Dwarfism Awareness Day 2021 and have since gained the interest of businesses, professionals and institutions and now..... here we are.
I was 14 when I did my first ever school assembly about my condition- I was standing in front of my secondary school peers and it was hands down the scariest thing I ever did. But from there I went on to do every house in my school- including some primary schools...
Nearly a decade later and through the power of teams- I have 'virtually' travelled the UK presenting in a variety of manners.
As well as having my own seminar package, which can be adapted based on each audience; I am also always willing to take part in external events, and have attended seminars and sat within webinar panels as a guest speaker.
Recent highlights:
Last year I presented at the OU Seminar as part of my role as a Student Recruitment Officer at the University of South Wales; the presentation talked about my university experience and overcoming the hurdles of being the first in my family to attend- whist having a physical disability.
Earlier this year, I attended Gwent Policy and Disability 'Strengthening relationships' online seminar discussing my experiences of Hate Crime, and my relationships with wider communities.
In September, I was invited to be a keynote speaker- at the National Disability in Policing Conference 2022. My seminar reflected on my experiences with hate crime and my work surrounding awareness.
